The Type 3 aka the Trucker Jacket represents an interesting time in the evolution of denim jackets. It’s the last of the classics, and the first of the modern fits. Revolutionary for the time, it was slim, long, and totally different than everything before it. 3sixteen picked up this legacy and turned it into one of their top-selling jackets.
Produced in Scotland by Simmons Bilt, this chocolate suede version of a Levi’s classic type III trucker jacket takes that original iconic design and makes some considered improvements. To start with, a much higher quality suede has replaced the lower quality rough-out leather used in the original’s only suede variant. The fit has also been tweaked a bit, cut in a more contemporary fit than the original, and this one runs a bit larger than typical 3sixteen jackets, yet smaller than what you may be used to, so sizing up is recommended.
