Knickerbocker Mfg. Co. and Whiskey Grade are two companies who have always put utility first in the design of their product. In regards to utilitarian wear, few items go beyond that of military wear. With military on their minds they took to the drawing table to recreate some updated classics from the years of WWII.
The series of products has a pricepoint for everyone with printed tubular knit tees, cotton bandanas, an HBT a3 Utility cap as well as a reproduction of the HBT Utility trouser. HBT Utility Trousers
In November 1941, the U.S. Marine Corps introduced the sage green HBT (Herringbone Twill) utilities as a fatigue uniform to be worn on work and training duties. However, the Marines immediately took to wearing the comfortable and hard-wearing clothing as their main combat uniform. The early Pacific battles were fought wearing a mix of khakis, Army HBT uniforms and USMC utilities. By 1943, the USMC utilities were the signature uniform of the U.S. Marines.
Knickerbocker Mfg Co. constructed these trousers with cloth brought in is same in spec and comes from Japan; a shuttle loomed HBT cloth. To accompany the period correct fabric is a black copper 13-star tack button for fastening pockets and fly. These pants are slightly slimmer than the originals and have a straight leg fit.

During World War 2, Walt Disney contributed to the success of our troops by focusing his efforts in Military Training manuals and films as well as propaganda helping to build the morale of the troops.
Walt’s genuine patriotism during the war was his decision to establish a unite devoted to producing customized military insignia, free of charge for the Armed Forces of America and her allies. Walt commissioned Hank Porter, producing over 1,200 Insignia Designs.

The HBT A3 Utility Cap
The HBT A3 Utility cap. They brought a classic shape for the crown and shortened the long brim commonly found with this style silhouette to suit that of a mid brim. Lined with select layers of batting, this brim may be worn up or down, or pretty much any way you wish. Made using a Herringbone cotton twill, brass hardware and “WG” chain stitching from Brian Blakely.
